This is a clone of the coleslaw that is used at Cook Out. It can be put on hot dogs, burgers, or just eaten as a side. It has the tangy North Carolina taste due to the vinegar and mustard.

1 bag (14-16 oz) shredded cabbage mix (or 1 small head of cabbage, finely minced)
1/3 cup mayonnaise
2 tbsp yellow mustard
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1.5 tbsp granulated sugar
1/2 tsp celery seed
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper

Steps

Place the shredded cabbage mix on a cutting board and chop repeatedly until the pieces are tiny (about rice-sized to pea-sized chunks).
In a large bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, yellow mustard, apple cider vinegar, granulated sugar, celery seed, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
Fold the finely chopped cabbage into the dressing mixture until thoroughly coated.
Cover and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving to let the flavors blend and the cabbage soften.
