Overview

Braisebook is a personal recipe management tool. We collect only what is necessary to provide the service and do not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising purposes.

Information We Collect

  • Account information: Your email address and a hashed password when you register.
  • Recipe content: Titles, ingredients, steps, descriptions, prep times, and any photos you upload.
  • Usage data: Basic analytics (page views, feature interactions) to help us improve the product. No personal profiles are built from this data.

How We Use Your Information

  • To operate and maintain your account and recipe books.
  • To display your recipes to you and, if you choose, to others via public links.
  • To improve and debug the service.

We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell it to any third party.

Data Storage

Your account data and recipes are stored in a managed database. Recipe photos are stored in Amazon S3 (us-east-2). Data is retained for as long as your account is active.

Public Recipes

If you make a recipe public, its title, description, ingredients, steps, prep time, and photo will be accessible to anyone with the link — including unauthenticated visitors. You can make a recipe private again at any time from the recipe page.

Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. No third-party tracking cookies are set.

Your Rights

You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us. Upon request, we will delete your account, recipes, and uploaded photos.
